Biography

Mr Bennett is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist focus on foot and ankle conditions. He is dedicated to helping patients of all ages regain mobility, reduce pain, and return to the activities they enjoy, whether that means walking comfortably, playing sports, or simply going about daily life without discomfort.

With a calm, reassuring manner and a clear, honest approach to care, Mr Bennett is known for his ability to put patients at ease. He takes time to listen and understand the full picture, ensuring that each patient receives a personalised treatment plan tailored to their specific condition, lifestyle, and goals. Whether the best path forward is a surgical procedure or a more conservative, non-operative approach, his focus is always on delivering the right treatment for the individual.

Mr Bennett treats a comprehensive range of foot and ankle conditions, including plantar fasciitis, bunions, Achilles tendon injuries, ankle instability, arthritis, fractures, and sports-related injuries. He works with everyone from athletes to older adults, helping restore function and quality of life with the latest evidence-based techniques and surgical advancements.

Mr Bennett’s academic and surgical training is both extensive and distinguished. After earning a First Class Honours degree in Pharmacology from the University of Liverpool, he entered medical school at the University of Wales College of Medicine, graduating with Merit in 2010. He completed his Foundation and Core Surgical Training in Merseyside, followed by Higher Specialist Training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in the North East of England.

During his training, Mr Bennett developed a particular interest in foot and ankle surgery, undertaking rigorous research in the field. His work was recognised internationally in 2017 when he received the prestigious International Federation of Foot and Ankle Societies Award, which led to him presenting his research at the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society meeting in Seattle, an accolade granted to only a select few.

After achieving Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and completing his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), he pursued further subspecialist fellowship training. This included a dedicated Foot and Ankle Fellowship in Harrogate, as well as an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship in Glasgow, refining his skills in both elective and emergency care.

In 2023, Mr Bennett was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, where he provides expert care to his patients.

When not in the clinic or operating theatre, Mr Bennett values time spent with his family and enjoying the outdoors. He is often found walking with his dogs in the countryside or fishing for salmon in the rivers and lochs of Scotland. These personal interests reflect the same qualities he brings to his practice: patience, focus, and a deep appreciation for individual well-being.

Whether you're dealing with a long-standing issue or a recent injury, Mr Bennett offers the expertise, empathy, and support needed to get you back on your feet.
